Life-Giving Love : Embracing God’s Beautiful Design for Marriage: Books

I just finished Life-Giving Love : Embracing God’s Beautiful Design for Marriage by Kimberly Hahn. There were parts that don’t yet apply to our marriage, but overall I was glad to read such an encouraging book.
Matt says he’ll read it, too, but it’s going to have to wait in line. Stay tuned.

All is Right with the World!

We were at a wedding on Saturday (you’ll start to notice a pattern). It was a lovely, wonderful wedding and I’ll have pictures up probably next week. I had a bit of trauma at the ceremony, though. Long story short, I thought my camera was quite broken. I got the camera as a birthday gift when I turned 18, so my Canon Sure Shot & I have been through an awful lot together. The thing has been abused & beaten – it got dropped on the floor at the Empire State building and kept right on clicking. So this silly thing I did that caused it to stop functioning was sad & embarrassing. (I ended up buying a disposable camera so I could take more pics at the reception.)

Tonight, I was shopping for a new camera, figuring that it would be cheaper and easier than trying to find somewhere to have mine repaired. Matt said “Hey, let me see the camera for a minute.” Two minutes later, my baby was working again. All he did was take the battery out long enough for the display to reset itself and it bounced right back.

I <3 Canon! (I <3 Matt, too)

Bring on the rest of the weddings!! =)

I’m Old

Yep, it’s official. I really am old. WAY back in 1987, I started taking dance lessons. As a first grader, I was one of the oldest in my class. The youngest girls were 3 – I was twice their age. There were four of us from that original class who stuck together through 12 years of classes. Three of us are already married. The fourth just announced her engagement. We’re all sooo old now. It’s scary.
Congratulations Lisa and Jim!

Wedding = Death?

Chief Justice Rehnquist died yesterday, further proving my theory that it’s a bad idea for me to attend weddings as a married woman. This isn’t going to stop me from attending, mind you… I’m just a little concerned for all those important & influential people out there…
The day of our wedding, we lost Ronald Reagan. The very next wedding we attended, we lost John Paul II. Yesterday, my sister got married and there went the Chief Justice.

I have three more weddings to go to next month. Stay tuned.

Next Stop: Rhode Island

The Buchwalds will be in New England for the first time ever this fall! Matt’s friend, Matt, is getting married, which makes the trip extra exciting.
