Visit Our Gallery

I’d like to call your attention to the links on the side of the blog, particularly the one called “Pictures.”
Click it and you will be directed to our online photo gallery. I finally got around to developing some film and got everything uploaded, so now there’s more than just wedding pictures.
Here’s a small sampling:

A Recap of “Birthdays in February Belonging to My Cousins”

Disclaimer: I apologize to the cousins who were born in January. I promise to continue this insanity for at least a full year, so I’ll get to you in 2006.

Three of my cousins (coincidentally, the three oldest) had birthdays this week:

February 20, 1984

Number One Cousin is finally legal!

February 22, 1990

His sister only has a year left until she can drive (she’s the baby)

February 24, 1989

The little one in this picture is legal to drive starting today.

Bonus:
For added fun and excitement, and not to be outdone by Funky Dung, a picture with Bishop Wuerl. This picture was taken in 2002 when I was Beth’s Confirmation sponsor.

We Have Lift-Off

Check the side… I finally got feeds for our blog! Hopefully they work, if not, let me know & I’ll try again.

Amy Is My Godmother

This past weekend I got elected. Or became a member of the elect. Or I had my rite of election. Whichever way you’d wish to say it, I went down (up?) to Erie and participated in the rite of election with all the other candidates and catechumen. Hopefully at least one of them is comfortable with their ability to spell that word. It was a pretty awe-inspiring event, as tons of people were there to take yet another step on their journey towards becoming Catholic.

While I can’t remember his exact words, Bishop Trautman was immensely welcoming. His words and tone, and they way he looked at me just radiated a sense of welcome and was filled with total genuiness (which may or may not be a word). It was such a wonderful feeling, and you should all go out and experience it right now. Or maybe next year. Either way, it made me feel like this was absolutely the right path for me to be on.

I also find it tremendously amusing that Amy is my godparent, just because I can imagine having that conversation with our future children. Let the good times roll.

Five More Days

Only five more days until the 9th anniversary of an event that forever changed my life. I won’t write the details here to protect those involved, but if you think about it, say a prayer for me and for my friend on the 20th.

On a lighter note, Number 1 cousin turns 21 that same day. I’m proud of him. Number 2 cousin turns 16 on the 24th. I’m proud of her, too. The list of birthdays wouldn’t be complete without Number 3 cousin’s birthday right in the middle on the 22nd. And you guessed it, I’m proud of her.

While we’re talking about birthdays and anniversaries, today marks 27 years for my sister-in-law, 24 for Mr. S. and 2 years of wedded bliss for Mr. & Mrs. H.
