Hey, did you see the part where…
my husband got a job interview??? Yeah. He has an interview tomorrow. The job is potentially very awesome for us. So say some prayers that he gets it.

So this week’s been a doozy… and it’s only Tuesday. I continue to have issues with mental and emotional fatigue, and my husband informs me that he may not live long enough to tell his side of this story. He’s so wonderful.
I still have one bank account to close… because I had to close my check card one business day before I could close the checking account.
Some of my books were damaged by water that snuck into Matt’s mom’s basement during the “Ivan Floods” such as the rain was called. Also, my parents have no carpet in their basement thanks to the same batch of rain.
Sunday, we got four new students in our CCD class. Yes, FOUR. We now have more students than space around the table… that’s if they ever all show up at the same time. We were OK this week because two from last week didn’t come.
Yesterday, I bought a kitchen utensil holder and a pitcher with a stiring divice on top. My upgrade for my computer also arrived, however it decided not to cooperate with my husband.
Today, a baker’s rack arrived, Matt got a job interview, our wedding album and other miscellaneous pictures were picked up, laundry was done (and put away, too!).
This evening, the computer continues to fight with Matt, and he’s assembling the Baker’s Rack. It looks quite stunning and really fits nicely… and our appliances don’t look so jumbled anymore.
Our next task is to change our bedclothes and finally get to use the beautiful comforter I picked out for us. If we’re lucky, Matt will survive all of this working and we’ll sleep, warm and comfortable, in a bed with new sheets and matching comforter.
Then, tomorrow, Matt can tell the more amusing version of this story.
I’m sure you’ve all been asking yourself, “Where did those zany Buchwalds go?”
We’re still here. So if you know where “here” is and you’d like to come visit us, we’d love to have visitors. We’re having an open house soon so that people can see where we live, so email us if for some reason we haven’t told you the date/time or given you directions. In addition to our open house, I’m also having a book party for Party Lite candles…. no consultant to super-pressure people in to buying… just me begging because I *really* like the Christmas tree and it’s just a little bit too much money. (PLEASE BUY STUFF FROM ME!)
This past month has been kind of difficult. I’ve been on mandatory overtime at work which makes me extra-plus tired and cranky for a multitude of reasons, one being that I spend considerably less time with my husband, who also now has a job. Matt’s been working part time at Burger King for a few months now, and sometimes he works in the evenings, which is the only time I’m home and half awake. I think Burger King makes Matt grumbly too because he isn’t always able to accomplish everything he’d like to during a day… especially when his shift is 11:45am to 2:00pm.
We threw a surprise party for my parents in the middle of the month. They were surprised & it made me happy.
On Wednesday, Matt & I attended the first meeting for the RCIA program at Beloved Disciple. There was a really good turn out. I think it helps that this is a college town. About half were college professors with their spouses, there were three college kids, a guy who’s looking into becoming Catholic because his wife & kids are, and then there was us. Hopefully Matt will begin to blog some about his experience with the class… I got somewhat of an impression that he may be the only catechumen… that everyone else is a candidate… so his perspective of things will be very interesting. I’m looking forward to learning more, too. The team seems to have a really firm understanding of theology, doctrine and Tradition (note the big “T”). Now if only I can convince Father Z. that we should KNEEL AFTER COMMUNION. I digress. One of our NFP instructors is part of the RCIA team so it’s good to have a familiar face when we’re so very new to the area.
The new CCD year started last Sunday. Matt is “helping” me teach the class. I don’t know my students very well yet… Only two of them have older siblings that I taught, and one is a daughter and sister of two of our other teachers. Other than that, they’re all new faces to me, and it’s going to make it kind of difficult to learn & get to know them all.
Today, we’re going to meet my mom at the bank to finally close out my “single girl” bank accounts (mom’s name was on them so she could deposit money for me if I needed while I was in college). After that, we’re going to look for some collage photo mats for a picture frame screen that I purchased a while back. Then, we have to do laundry.
Lately, I’ve been feeling like life is very ho-hum. After writing about it, I realize I have an awful lot going on and I shouldn’t be feeling so ho-hum. This is something I should investigate. In the mean time, keep me in your prayers. And I’ll try to blog here a little more than I have been.
