38 Days Until the Wedding

By my records, there are still 78 reply cards on the loose. People, I understand the limited ability to plan in advance, but the caterer doesn't. Please say you'll come!!! Only 15 more days to get the responses into my happy hands. That means I need to receive 5.2 replies per day from now until then in order to have them all.

40 Days Until the Wedding

Stress, my friends, is at an all-time high. You thought I was stressed when I graduated college? You ain't seen nothin' yet. I just cannot even function like this. I'd go spend a few hours with the massage therapist at the hair salon where I go tanning, but I'm flat broke which is another cause of Amy-stress. To clarify before anyone starts worrying about me & my finances, flat broke in Amy-speak is the difference between a few hours with the massage therapist and having some money in the bank. It's not the difference between breaking even or being in debt. That would be my version of destitute. What can I say? I set high standards for myself. I hate stress and I wish I had a better way of managing stress... and anger for that matter. If anyone has any tips for managing pre-wedding stress and/or flat-out rage, I'd LOVE to hear them. PLEASE email me.

On a more cheerful note, I really love the Thank You notes I bought. I got them at good ol' Hallmark because I wanted a thank you note that I could actually write on and it wouldn't require a super strength magnifying glass to read. I bought them for that reason, and for the fact that they had a purple butterfly on them. Since I've had to open them to write a few notes, I've discovered a few more very fun things about them. The envelopes rock because the insides are lined with shiny silver paper. And the actual thank you note itself sparkles like the paper has glitter all through it. They're almost too pretty to write on. But don't worry. I'll be sure to write plenty on each and every single one of them. Except maybe one I'll save for my scrapbook.

45 Days Until the Wedding

This is a test. Blogger doesn't like my other blog, so I thought I'd try this one. And there are only 45 days until the wedding!!

Amanda & I are going up to get her dress fitted today. Big excitement.

49 Days Until the Wedding

7 weeks and counting.

11 responses to the wedding, only two of which are members of the wedding party... all right guys & dolls, get out those pens & fill out the cute little card & drop it in the mail so I know how many boyfriends/girlfriends are coming to party with us. And the rest of you... do the same so I know if I get to see you or not :)
Muchas gracias to those of you who replied so quickly, especially to Matt's Uncle Don who will be travelling the farthest to attend.
Uncle Don should get a prize. Let me think on that. And no, I won't be giving Father Ritzert a prize for living closest to the wedding. That's almost cheating. But maybe he should get a prize for being the only non-relative there who has known me since I was a baby. I'm rambling. Ignore me. Maybe.

At this point, things are really coming together. Matt should be getting a special delivery of bottles of bubbles & bows today so he can assemble those. Grandma & I only have 147 favors left to assemble (anyone actually *like* using a hole punch? We could use some help). I now have shoes with a lower heel. If these don't work with my dress, I swear I'll walk down the aisle barefoot & Matt will just have to carry me across the street to the hall.
This is what still needs to be done:
*Purchase Beverages
*Final decisions about Cake
*Ceremony Program
*Cake Top
*Floorplan for reception
*Timeline to give to all vendors
*Final meetings with all vendors to determine arrival times, final headcounts, music, pictures, etc
*Rehearsal Dinner T-shirts

Also, for those of you who have been asking and/or wondering about a wedding shower, I've been talking to Nica and those invites should be going out soon.

I love Matt.

50 Days Until the Wedding

Welcome to Panic Mode.

Things you should NOT say to either of us for the next 50 days:
*I'm dying my hair (even if it's the non-permanent kind, it'll still give me a heart attack)
*I'm getting a Paige Davis haircut
*Matt is going to be sleeping on a sofabed the night before the wedding.
*I'm going to wear saddle shoes to the wedding
*The tuxes don't fit
*The seamstress messed up the alterations
*The honeymoon reservations are lost
*The (fill-in-the-vendor) isn't here/isn't coming
*I can't find the rings
*Seneca moved graduation to 3:00pm on Saturday

That about does it for now. More to come.

56 Days Until the Wedding

We're headed out to meet with the jeweler again today and today he's going to keep my ring for a little while to make sure he gets the exact fit for the custom ring he's making me. While he's got my ring, we're going to the mall to window shop.

My shoe catastrophe turns out to STILL be a catastrophe. The shoes I bought fit my feet well but are too high for the length of my dress. So I'm back to square one on the shoes and thoroughly embarrassed to have to return them again. If anyone sees any cute open-toed white shoes that have a VERY VERY low heel, e-mail me.

The dress fit perfectly with a minor adjustment at the neckline and an extra hook on the back. The bustle is HEAVY. I bet it weighs half as much as I do, but that's probably an extreme exageration.

Girls, don't forget to call the seamstress to get your fitting appointments... she had a lot open when I was there on Wednesday but as the prom approaches that might not be the case.

Boys, get to the tux place.

Today we have exactly 8 weeks until the wedding. AAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHH!

60 Days Until the Wedding

The home stretch!
Today, I picked up the shoes I had to order because the ones I bought were too small and when I went to exchange them they didn't have my real size. The shoes came in JUST in time because I have my first fitting tomorrow afternoon.
I also talked to a videographer today and I have to say I'm surprised by how expensive it is. If anyone can convince me why I should or shouldn't spend the money I'd love to hear it.
Yesterday I started cutting shapes for the guestbook. It's going to be a long project.
This weekend, Matt & I have a second appointment with the jeweler about our rings.
On Sunday, Amy J came up & she and I planned out the ceremony music. We're being secretive for now because she's working on a few extra special things.

...and... I took a LOT of white envelopes to the post office today. :) So, close relatives & friends, watch your mailboxes.

61 Days Until the Wedding

Today is technically exactly two months until the wedding :)
