A Strange Turn of Events

All three of the houses I talked about in my previous post were a bust. We actually did decide that we really liked the first house, but it sold two days after we saw it. It was a sad, sad day. Today, on the other hand, was fun. Our realtor took us to see a house he had *just* listed. He put it into the computer system literally less than an hour before he met us at the house. It’s an adorable little Cape Cod with “three” bedrooms and one and a half bathrooms. The basement is unfinished but useable. It has a back deck and a nice size yard (about a quarter acre). The only real negative is that it’s a little bit farther from where Matt works than what we had hoped for. The positives so far seem to outweigh that one negative, but we have one more house to look at tomorrow and then we’ll go back to this house & take a more thorough look, probably on Saturday. I’d love to post a link with all the details, but it’s so new it’s not showing up in the search yet.

Good luck Amy, may you find your dream home. We (as I told you) bid on many houses till we ended up with our dream house at a dream price. I just found out also that my house has gone up over $200k in the past two years. So God really took care of us, even when for a while I thought we would never find anything. May he do the same for you. Also sending you an email.

If anyone deserves a pretty little house for kiddies it is you.

Oh, that’s disappointing you missed out on the first 3! But, there’s no such thing as coincidence, right? Good luck on your continued search!

(ps-I’m addicted and back to blogging again…;)

nice to see you back, Anne!

I think I might have to give up blogging about houses ’til we buy one… this one turned out to have a secret creek running under the back yard.

You’re kidding! A secret creek? At least you didn’t buy the house before you discovered it. Actually, the cathedral in Sioux Falls (my diocese) has a creek running underneath it, from what I understand, so they’ve had to do a lot of expensive renovations to work around it.
