The Great iPod Adventure

All I wanted for Christmas was an iPod (and the new Billy Joel box set and a mixer and a sewing machine and a brand new beautiful house… I digress) so my dear wonderful husband set out to make my Christmas Wish come true. We found what we thought was a pretty good deal on a 40GB 3rd Gen iPod and purchased it from a relatively reputable seller on eBay. It arrived, but Matt discovered that it didn’t come with the USB cable that connects the iPod to the computer. The product description didn’t actually *say* it came with the cable, so Matt went searching & purchased one from somebody else, again on eBay. Christmas came and I was finally allowed to have my new toy, but it wouldn’t turn on. We also discovered that we had no charger. The charger *was* listed in the product description, so Matt decided he would email the seller. A few days later, Matt’s dad gave us all of his stuff for his 20GB iPod that he never ever uses and told us we could keep it. We used his charger to try to get my iPod to work. It would charge, but then the battery would die very quickly. Matt emailed the sellers. Twice. The second time, he mentioned that he might leave negative feedback if he didn’t get a response. They responded quickly and we sent the iPod back so that they could test it to see if it was truly defective. Today, we got confirmation that our account was refunded for the full price of the purchase.
Now, we’re working with the 20GB iPod to make sure it works properly. If there’s something wrong with *this* iPod’s battery, we can ship it back to Apple & they’ll replace it for a reasonable fee. In the end, what I thought might be too expensive a Christmas request might actually turn out to be *FREE*

Scripture Verse of the Day

You also, be patient. Establish your hearts, for the coming of the Lord is at hand. James 5:8

Oh, how I needed to see this today… It’s going to be a long day & I’m going to need a LOT of patience!

Happy Thoughts

I had a rough day, but rather than dwell on how upset I am, here is a list of GOOD things that happened today:
*I realized I’ll get paid THREE times in December instead of two.
*Matt made a promise to me that I know he’ll keep
*I had cottage cheese with dinner
*My cat voluntarily sat in my lap for over an hour
*I found stuff to make ornaments for my Jesse Tree

Me too!

I Am A: Lawful Good Elf Ranger Cleric

Alignment:
Lawful Good characters are the epitome of all that is just and good. They believe in order and governments that work for the benefit of all, and generally do not mind doing direct work to further their beliefs.

Race:
Elves are the eldest of all races, although they are generally a bit smaller than humans. They are generally well-cultured, artistic, easy-going, and because of their long lives, unconcerned with day-to-day activities that other races frequently concern themselves with. Elves are, effectively, immortal, although they can be killed. After a thousand years or so, they simply pass on to the next plane of existance.

Primary Class:
Rangers are the defenders of nature and the elements. They are in tune with the Earth, and work to keep it safe and healthy.

Secondary Class:
Clerics are the voices of their God/desses on Earth. They perform the work of their deity, but this doesn’t mean that they preach to a congregation all their lives. If their deity needs something done, they will do it, and can call upon that deity’s power to accomplish their goals.

Deity:
Mielikki is the Neutral Good goddess of the forest and autumn. She is also known as the Lady of the Forest, and is the Patron of Rangers. Her followers are devoted to nature, and believe in the positive and outreaching elements of it. They use light armor, and a variety of weapons suitable for hunting, which they are quite skilled at. Mielikki’s symbol is a unicorn head.
