Hitting the Nail on the Head

…as usual.
Funky Dung writes today about his dislike of trolls. Mr. Buchwald & I agree whole-heartedly. Matt’s been getting a little taste of first hand experience over at Nuklear LORD where he serves as co-sysop. The trolling on the forums is not very fun, or family friendly and it’s really annoying. I’ve concluded that trolls are male only and have not met any women, aside from possibly their mothers. The latest troll alleges that he’s wasted time editing one of our pictures with PhotoShop & circulated it online. Let the scavenger hunt begin! Or not.

*start Nuke-plug* While I’m on the subject of LORD, if you’re looking for a fun, text-based way to waste a few minutes on every day, though, we recommend playing the game. *end Nuke-plug*

“Christmas” is coming!

We here at Casa de Buchwald had been pondering a digital video camera for a few months. Since nobody bought it for us for the holiday, last weekend we ordered one. We tried to buy it at the outlet store near our apartment because I had a gift certificate, but they didn’t have the one we wanted.
As of 5:19 this morning, our Christmas Present is on a FedEx truck in Ohio. With any luck, it’ll arrive by lunch time!

In other news, the Buchwalds are getting new shoes soon because we still have that gift certificate.

A Thought for Advent

Have you mailed your Christmas cards yet? No? Well, don’t. Not yet at least. Allow me to explain…
Advent started this past Sunday (November 28) and continues on into December 24, the later part of which kicks off the Christmas season. Christmas continues until the Baptism of the Lord which this liturgical year occurs on January 9.
So, in keeping with the liturgical calendar and not the retail calendar, I’d like to invite anyone who happens upon this blog to wait until Christmas to send Christmas cards. In the mean time, send advent cards and make good use of this time of waiting and preparation.

8 Days Until Black Friday

For the first time since I graduated college, I do NOT have to work on the day after Thanksgiving. Poor Matt, however, does. I guess it’s his turn. Hopefully he won’t have to do it two years in a row… and fortunately for him, he doesn’t have to work for the Evil Empire. He only works for one of the major companies intent on Making Children Fat. A far less evil, if you ask me. (note the dripping sarcasm)
Dinka pointed out the nearness of the Christmas Shopping Season here. Since Veronika is one of the coolest babies on the web, I thought Matt & I could be a bit more like her… so if you feel inclined to buy us presents, and then create a spiderweb with colored string and tie said presents to the ends of the strings, I’ve added our Amazon.com wishlists to the links on the side.

In other news, Amanda told me last week that she’ll no longer be updating Litzymonkey.com so I’ve removed the link from the side. Maybe someday the monkey will be back. I hope so.
