Halloween Recap

Matt carved a little pumpkin & we set it out on our porch (picture to follow). We also watched the SNL Halloween DVD… very funny stuff, even if it was made before Jimmy Fallon’s Halloween Carols… guess we’ll just have to wait for volume two someday.

We handed out treats but only got 6 trick-or-treaters. I suspect the rain kept some kids away… the little boy who lives two doors down didn’t come over.

We were bums & didn’t do costumes this year, but I did wear my halloween sweatshirt that glows in the dark.

Ratzi & Linus enjoyed a little bit of the excitement, too. I left the inside door open so we could see when people came up the steps, but mostly the cats just had a great time watching the bugs flying around our light.

It was hard work & eventually they passed out together on the couch (with a little help from me, lol)

Today is Born Our Savior, Christ the Lord!

Merry Christmas from the Buchwalds!

Life-Giving Love : Embracing God’s Beautiful Design for Marriage: Books

I just finished Life-Giving Love : Embracing God’s Beautiful Design for Marriage by Kimberly Hahn. There were parts that don’t yet apply to our marriage, but overall I was glad to read such an encouraging book.
Matt says he’ll read it, too, but it’s going to have to wait in line. Stay tuned.

Wedding Madness

Mr. B & I have attended 4 weddings together in our not-quite-five years of happy coupledom. That’s not counting our own. In the past two weeks or so we’ve bee invited to THREE more. And Mr. B. suspects that we’ll be receiving at least one more in the near future. Assuming he’s right, that’ll bring our total number of weddings attended to EIGHT by the end of October. That also means that five of those weddings occured/will occur this calendar year.
Also, apparently that old myth that it’s popular to get married in the summer is wrong. Our wedding count includes 1 in February, 1 in April (though it might as well have been March), 2 in May, 1 in September, and 2 maybe 3 in October. The September wedding is the only one that is actually happening during summer… and yet the bride & groom seem to think they’re getting married in the fall. In my twisted little head, this is hillarious.

RCIA Picnic

Pat & Vicki had everyone over to their farm on 06/19/2005. It was a good time with good food and good friends. They let all the kids ride one of their horses and gave quad rides around the property. This is also where we met Ratzi for the first time. Pictures are here with more to come soon.
